Early 2023 is proving to be a time of transition, with the adoption of BowlsHub Aotearoa and a change in our Tournament Convenor role. 

Bowls Auckland understands the importance of this role, and we have developed a plan which continues to deliver high-quality tournaments and support bowlers & clubs through to the end of our 2022-23 programme. Integral to the plan is to assign a Tournament Director for each event who will officiate delivering the technical aspects of an event.

We are very fortunate to have some high-quality people available to call upon and provide us with options to cover the multiple events in our busy playing schedule.

With that in mind, we are so pleased to welcome Weng Lim to the team. Weng is well-known to many of you. With a bowls CV that boasts; a Level 2 umpire, a Development Coach, Bowls NZ & World Bowls umpiring experience, and a former member of the Operations Committee. 

Weng’s first events as Tournament Director will be the Bowls 3Five Open series and Auckland Men’s and Women’s Triples in February. 

We look forward to supporting Weng and delivering awesome events for everyone to enjoy.
