The Auckland Bowling Club was illuminated with the brilliance of talent as the Bowls 3Five Final unfolded on Tuesday evening. Despite the sun having set, the intensity on the green only grew brighter as teams vied for supremacy in this fiercely contested championship.
Following three rounds of rigorous competition, there were notable shifts in the standings, setting the stage for an exhilarating showdown among the top eight qualifiers. Each team showcased their skill, making for a captivating spectacle throughout the finals.
In a finale that exceeded all expectations, Balmoral Keruse emerged as champions of the 2023-2024 Bowls Auckland Bowls 3Five Championship. Balmoral President Graham Farley’s heartfelt tribute to their esteemed 105-year-old patron, George Keruse, added an emotional touch to the victory, celebrating Balmoral’s rich heritage and success.
While Balmoral celebrated their triumph, it was a bittersweet moment for the Pt Chevalier Pirates, who fought valiantly until the very end. The final moments, culminating in an extraordinary upshot with the last bowl in the tiebreaker, epitomised the spirit of competition and sportsmanship.
As Balmoral basks in the glory of their victory, they now set their sights on the neighbouring playoff and national finals.
