Bowls Auckland is thrilled to announce the teams selected for the first fixture of the season, scheduled for Saturday, 28 September. Our players are gearing up to face off against Bay of Plenty, Northland and our fierce rivals, North Harbour, in what promises to be an exciting start to the season.
Each athlete chosen has demonstrated outstanding skill, commitment, and teamwork throughout the six-week trial and selection process. Their hard work has earned them a place in the Auckland squad, ready to take on the competition.
The selection panel has expressed strong confidence in the team’s potential to perform at their first showing. Robyn Reihana, 1-5 Year Head Selector and Coach, shared her thoughts:
“We have great talent and depth in this year’s squad. Our Men’s playing team features a wide range of experience while the Women’s offers a blend of experience with emerging talent. We’re confident these players will rise to the occasion and deliver a performance that makes Tāmaki Makaurau proud.”
Reihana also emphasised the importance of team dynamics:
“Our focus has been on selecting players who excel individually and understand the value of team culture and team spirit. We believe this group will work together to bring out the best in each other, showing adaptability, and determination in a very competitive event.”
As the quad fixture approaches, the selected players will continue to train and prepare with the support of Bowls Auckland’s coaching team. The focus now shifts to strategy, collaboration, and ensuring peak performance on the day. We can’t wait to see these athletes represent Bowls Auckland.
The following players have been selected to represent Bowls Auckland in the September quad fixture. Congratulations to all the selected players, and best of luck!
