Auckland’s 1-5s ready for the Battle of the Bridge
15 November 2024

The stage is set for the annual Battle of the Bridge showdown as Bowls Auckland names its 1-5 squad to face off against North Harbour.

Known for its competitive rivalry, this event is more than just a game – it’s a test of grit and skill where friendships pause, and the desire to win takes over once players hit the green.

1-5 Head Selector Robyn Reihana shared her thoughts on the team selection process, saying, “Selecting this team was tough! These players have earned their place through hard work, commitment, and consistent form, regularly excelling in recent events. Representing Auckland is a privilege, and these players are ready to put their skills to the test.”

Adding to the anticipation, Men’s Co-Selector Brendon Walton noted, “The team is ready to embrace the challenge. They know North Harbour will demand their best effort. North Harbour was a tough battle in the September fixture, it was critical points scored in the final ends that secured us not only the match win but victory overall.”

Congratulations to everyone selected and best of luck as they look to  ‘find a way’ to glory in this proud tradition.
