Auckland Bowls regretfully advises the resignation of Leif Shelby as our Coaching & Player Development Manager.

When Leif joined our team late last year, we were thrilled his appointment would give our bowling community access to his considerable bowling skills, expertise and experience.  Since then, Leif has made a valuable contribution across our organisation as a coach, player and team member, including:

• meeting with club executives to discuss coaching requirements
• working with clubs to build their coaching resources
• conducting sought-after coaching clinics at individual clubs
• delivering a very successful Foundation Coaching Course
• launching the Skills Training Academy and running fortnightly training sessions
• working with clubs and their local schools to build a school bowls programme
• supporting the ongoing strategy and initiatives at Auckland Bowls

We have really appreciated Leif’s valuable input and enthusiasm.  The overwhelming feedback from our bowling fraternity is what a positive impact he has made for our sport across our region.  Unfortunately, for our team and our Centre, Leif has decided to follow a new direction, so we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.  Leif’s last day will be Friday, 5 August.
