The 2024 Auckland President’s Day was a resounding success, held on Sunday, 6 October, and hosted for the first time by the very welcoming Kohimarama Bowling Club.

Club spirit truly shone as 29 clubs entered, along with a team from Bowls Auckland, creating a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. The Any Combination Fours featured a lively mix of club execs, members, and volunteers—all proudly donning their club colours as they competed in friendly matchups. Notably, this year, we welcomed for the first time in a long while, teams from the shores of Piha and Waiheke—adding to the range of clubs attending. The competition was divided into two sections, and the action was intense but fun.

Royal Oak dominated section one with a perfect four out of four matches, while Bowls Auckland, the reigning champs, achieved the same feat in section two. However, it was Royal Oak’s score differential that clinched them the overall victory, allowing them to proudly secure the newly donated St George trophy!

It was a brilliant day filled with camaraderie, fun, and plenty of spirited bowls action. A huge thank you to Kohimarama Bowling Club for being such gracious hosts and to all the clubs who joined in to make the day so memorable.  Look forward to seeing more of you next year!
