The Royal Oak Bowls Club proudly heralds the return of its prestigious $12,000 Easter Fours Tournament, marking a triumphant revival after a three-year hiatus. This celebrated event, part of the Bowls NZ Summer of Bowls series, roared back to life following postponements due to Covid and upgrades to the facility.

A showdown of elite teams: new format, unmatched competition

With a fresh Fours format enticing 32 elite teams from across the nation, the competition was fierce. Hailing from Auckland to Timaru, participants showcased their skills, with Blackjack legends like Jamie Hill and Wendy Jensen gracing the greens.

A spirited team from Rarotonga added an exotic flair, challenging local talent with their unique playing style.

Thrilling highlights and victories

Amidst the intense battles, a feature raffle stole the spotlight, with Neven Grgicevich walking away with a coveted set of Aero Optima Bowls. Festivities aplenty with cash raffles and Easter hampers, celebrating winners like Robyn Fisher, for her tireless efforts behind the scenes.

In the end, victory belonged to the formidable composite team of Bart Robertson, Ricky Howe, Elaine McClintock, and Leeanne Poulson, sealing their triumph with an impeccable record. Close behind, David Akaruru and company proved formidable challengers, with a thrilling race for third place showcasing the competitive spirit of all participants.
