Introducing Bowls+
19 March 2025
A game-changer for player rankings!

Bowls New Zealand has launched Bowls+, a new player ranking system designed to track performances and award ranking points based on results recorded in Bowlshub. Bowls Auckland is excited to see how this system evolves and the opportunities it presents for our players and clubs.

How does Bowls+ work?
Bowls+ collects match data from Bowlshub and assigns ranking points to players based on their results.
Auckland is ahead of the game, having used Bowlshub for the last three seasons. This means we already have a strong data set covering Auckland-based centre and national events within this period.

What does this mean for clubs?
Some players will be eager to earn ranking points, which can be awarded for any level of competition, provided results are recorded in Bowlshub.
As a result, clubs may start receiving requests to log results from club championships and open tournaments in Bowlshub—ensuring players’ performances contribute to their rankings.

How can we help?
Many clubs have transitioned their members to Bowlshub, but few currently use it for club championships. We’re here to help with that shift – Bowls Auckland can assist clubs in two ways:

1. Setting up club championships in Bowlshub

  • Enable online entries
  • Assistance with publishing draws and training on result entry
  • Rankings updated every Friday

2. Quick results entry

  • Learn how to enter scorecards quickly
  • Rankings updated every Friday

While both options are available, setting up club championships in Bowlshub is the best long-term solution—moving clubs into a fully digital space and eliminating messy paper sign-ups!
