Here is an important update for all players

Bowls New Zealand recently introduced a new Mixed Pairs Champion of Champions event to the National calendar to be played in Hastings on Friday 16-18 August 2024.

Bowls Auckland has made the decision not to change the Jarden Open 2-4-2 Mixed Pairs event scheduled for 28 & 29 December, this event will remain open to all competitors affiliated with Bowls New Zealand.

We are pleased to inform all players that we will be introducing a new “Pathway” Mixed 2-4-2 Pairs event to be played on 15-16 June 2024.

Conditions of Play are yet to be finalised however the format will be based on the National event.

At a glance:

• Mixed Pairs
• Entry fee $50
• Teams/Pairs must be from the same club, affiliated to Bowls Auckland
• Four bowls per player, using the 2-4-2 format
• 14 ends per game (2½ hour time limit for all games)
• Covered and/or carpet greens (relevant to entries)
• Two days, 4 games per day
  • Day One – Qualifying
  • Day Two – Final 16 knockout
• Winners will receive a Centre title, prize money, and a travel allowance to attend the national final*.
  • Travel allowance is subject to representing Auckland at the National Finals.

* This date replaces the originally published COC reserve weekend, which will not be required due to COC events being played under covers.
