On Tuesday, 25 March, The Alternative Commentary Collective (ACC) and Bowls Auckland brought back the most eagerly awaited—Super Bowl.
Dubbed the Black Clash of Bowls, the ACC put the call out, and the result was an awesome afternoon filled with hotdogs, cold bevvies, plenty of sunshine, a DJ, some questionable bowls skills – and a great cause—supporting men’s health through Movember!
This year’s event saw media and sports personalities from Radio Hauraki, NZ Herald, ACC and Movember take to the greens, each team bolstered by one of our own (Jhanna Savov, Matt Berry, Lisa Prideaux & Teo Turua) to level the playing field and bring some competitive fire!
For the second year running, team Radio Hauraki – Manaia Stewart and Matt Heath claimed victory, lifting the coveted trophy and securing their bragging rights – again! Congrats Team Radio Hauraki.
Beyond the fun and friendly competition and banter, Super Bowl II highlighted the inclusive and entertaining nature of the game.
The collaboration between Bowls Auckland and the ACC gave lawn bowls a huge digital boost, racking up close to 270,000 impressions across ACC’s social media and audio platforms. A win-win for both brands—and an even bigger win for the future of bowls!
