It was an exciting weekend for young Aucklander Hannah Dawson to win the 2024 Kittyhawk Under 21 Girls Singles title.
Last weekend (19-20 January), Bowls Wellington hosted the Kittyhawk Under 21 Championship. This event showcased the talents of 28 young upcoming players from across the country, providing a platform for emerging bowlers to shine and compete for the coveted title.
In a gripping Finals match, Hannah, representing Howick/Pakuranga, triumphed in the KittyHawk U21 Girls Singles category. Hannah faced a formidable opponent in Lily Signal from Stokes Valley, and the match concluded with a nail-biting last-end Umpire’s measure, securing Hannah’s victory with a score of 21-19.
A big congratulations to Hannah for her outstanding achievement.
According to Hannah’s proud dad, David, “Hannah did so well, she really enjoyed herself! It was a great tournament with fantastic people and facilities. It was well worth the trip!”
We also extend our applause to all the other finalists and want to recognise all the young participants for their enthusiasm and skill. A special shoutout to Bowls Wellington for successfully organising and running this fantastic event.
